The Great Warwickshire Provincial “Ride Out” Team visited Dorset on Monday. The team, led by Assistant Provincial Grand Master David Greenwood, was escorted from Salisbury to Wimborne by the Dorset Masonic Bikers Chapter and the Widow’s Sons.
The Warwickshire team had departed their Provincial Head Quarters in Birmingham on Friday 25th March, their intention to visit every Province and attend a Lodge meeting therein. Their visit coincided with a meeting at the Lodge of St Cuthberga 622.
On arrival at Wimborne Corn Market the team were cordially welcomed into the Province of Dorset by Simon Delahunty, the Assistant Provincial Grand Master for Dorset. That evening the team attended the Lodge of St Cuthberga and enjoyed a fantastic initiation ceremony witnessed by many visitors covering five Provinces.
It was noted that a visiting group from the Lodge of Science 437 included three generations from one family, similar to the IPM’s family at 622.
The initiation ceremony was truly splendid and a prefect show case of Dorset Freemasonry at its best. The new initiate, Bro. Steve, joins four new entered apprentices at 622, all initiated by the Master, Rick Clarkson.
At the festive board a commemorative motorcycle piston was presented to Simon on behalf of Warwickshire. This will be displayed at Wimborne Freemasons Hall. Half of the money collected from the raffle will go toward the Warwickshire festival target.
